It is Official
The lease is signed. Geekminded will be coming your way in November, at 2003 Bonnycastle Ave. It’s a great location, and I can’t wait to get in there and start getting it ready. Check back here for updates and official announcements about the grand opening.
In the mean time, I’ll be ordering-in the stock. If you have any ideas about what Geekminded should sell, pop over to the forums and let me know.
Potential Location
Here’s a picture of the location I’m working on getting:
I would be at 2003 Bonnycastle, which is the first storefront around the corner from the grocery store. As I found out last night, when my fiancée was talking to Stephanie at WhyLouisville, the Acme Ink tattoo shop just moved-in down at 2007. I bet they will make for some good neighbors. I know at least one guy who works there, and have been considering getting some work done by him. It’s a happy coincidence to be sure.
Oh, and another funny coincidence: right now there is a large billboard (next to “keep louisville weird” sign in the picture) for my previous employer, First Quality Music.

Moving fast
Really fast.
I have the name registered with the County Clerk and I am getting ready to sign a lease on a very nice space in the perfect part of town. I’m in the process of lining-up equipment, fixtures, displays and of course distributors and stock. It’s looking like the e.t.a. of GeekMinded will be mid to late-November. With all that has to happen between now and then, I’m sure the time will fly by.
Planning
GeekMinded is in the planning stages. As currently envisioned, it will be a shop which caters to technology enthusiasts and the self-identifying geek. Check back here for information on our progress towards realiziation.
