More Progress
Geekminded is becoming more real day by day. The company is now legally official on local, state and federal levels. Lots of hoops to jump through, but I’ve got good people advising me, and things are moving quickly.
I ordered my point-of-sale computer system yesterday, along with all of the software I’ll need to run the business. I considered (briefly) building my own machine for that purpose, but after further consideration, I decided that it would be better to have a pre-assembled system, with a warranty.
I will, however, be building the other machine for the shop. The plan is to have a terminal for free (with a purchase) access. I’ll have wifi also, but I think it would be useful to have a machine which customers can come in and use quickly and easily. I’ll probably just put together a bare-bones Linux box. That should provide me with a little bit of Geek Cred.
