Louisville, KY January 15, 2007 – Geekminded, a technology shop, has opened in the Highlands. Providing a wide range of gadgets, technology-related goods and services, Geekminded caters to everyone from the new computer user to the technology enthusiast.

Geekminded provides computer and electronics accessories, including but not limited to: USB Gadgets, MP3 Players, GPS devices, external hard drives, thumb drives and web cams. Geekminded also caters to "Geek Culture" by providing technology-related books, magazines and t-shirts. And for those who simply need the help of a geek, Geekminded provides basic computer service and repair.

Geekminded is open now and is owned and operated by Jackson and Medina Cooper. Jackson, who operates the store and is a self-identifying geek, has worked as a web developer and network administrator for the previous eight years. According to Jackson: "The word 'Geek' is not derogatory. Anyone who uses technology to improve their life has a little bit of geek in them. We want to serve everyone; from the guy who builds his own computers and writes software to the grandmother who is using the web and email to keep in contact with her family."

Geekminded represents the realization of lifelong dreams for both Jackson and Medina. Both have always wanted to own and operate a business. After a difficult year which saw the passing of several close friends and family members, they decided that life was too short to put-off your dreams. Consequently, they set out to create Geekminded.
